Jai Bilish: The Future of the Titans | Long-Term Contract Extension (2026)

The Titans have made a significant move by securing one of rugby league’s rising stars, Jai Bilish, with a long-term contract extension that will keep him on the Gold Coast until 2030. This decision not only reinforces the club's commitment to nurturing young talent but also underlines their future ambitions.

Jai Bilish, who has been honing his skills through the club’s development program since he was just 15, has impressed everyone during his inaugural pre-season in the NRL. With this new agreement, he is set to join the Titans' full-time roster in 2027, and will then be elevated to the top 30 squad for the following season.

Initially contracted until 2028, Bilish is poised to transition into the NRL program after he completes his education at Palm Beach Currumbin. He is currently the captain of the Reds and has played a crucial role in their National Schoolboy Cup team, contributing to their championship victory in 2024.

Scott Sattler, the Titans’ director of football, expressed that Bilish’s extension is a strong endorsement of both the player and the club’s long-term strategy under the guidance of new coach Josh Hannay. He stated, "Jai embodies the type of player we wish to base our future around. He has demonstrated remarkable growth in a short span and possesses a genuine eagerness to learn, enhance his skills, and focus on the finer details, which are essential for our club’s aspirations."

Sattler continued, "We find ourselves in an exhilarating position where all our key players, spanning a similar age group, are committing to the club. This forms a generational cohort of athletes that should invigorate Titans supporters. Beyond his athletic prowess, Jai is an outstanding individual who grasps the significance of being part of this club and the surrounding community. Securing him until 2030 establishes stability for both Jai and the Titans, and we eagerly anticipate his ongoing development as a member of our team in the coming years."

Matt Keating, who manages the Titans pathways, expressed pride in Bilish’s achievements, noting that his new contract exemplifies what the Future Titans program aims to realize. He said, "Jai has been integral to our Future Titans initiative since he joined at 15 and serves as a prime example of how effective pathways and sustained development can yield success. He has embraced every opportunity presented to him, both at his club and through our longstanding collaboration with Palm Beach Currumbin, demonstrating dedication and a consistent desire to grow both on and off the field."

Keating added, "Our Future Titans program is centered on identifying local talent early, facilitating their growth, and providing a transparent path to the NRL right here on the Gold Coast. Jai’s renewed commitment to the club until 2030 not only strengthens our belief in our developmental framework but also sends a compelling message to our younger athletes that there is a real future waiting for them at the Titans."

It’s worth noting that Jai comes from a lineage of rugby league players, with both of his brothers, Roko and Ike, also being part of the Future Titans program.
